INFORMATION SHEET TO BE PART OF AKI-OUTCOMES SURVEY
(For people who are living with kidney disease)
You are invited to participate in a research study designed to gather perspectives on patient-centered outcomes in acute kidney injury requiring dialysis (AKI-D) from people who are living with kidney disease.
When patients initiate dialysis in the hospital for new or worsening kidney failure during acute illness, they may experience a range of possible complications related to their disease or to the care they receive. We are collecting the opinions of people who are living with kidney disease to better understand the most important priorities for future scientific research aiming to improve care. Your opinion will help researchers to determine what they should focus on and study first. This involves identifying the importance of outcomes for patients. Outcomes are consequences of disease and treatment.
This survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. You may skip any question that you do not wish to answer or stop the survey at any time. We will collect demographic information, and we will ask your opinion on the importance of different outcomes. You will also be asked to rank them according to their importance so we can understand which should be prioritized.
Your participation is voluntary, and all responses are strictly confidential. No identifying information will be collected.
We sincerely appreciate your time and valuable contribution.
Kind regards,
Jeremiah Brown, William Beaubien-Souligny and Javier Neyra
(on behalf of the AKI-D outcomes consensus team)
